So, archers in front as melee, cavalry in the rear to do. Is there a particular faction/troop type that's giving you trouble and what do you prefer to use? Rhodok infantry or xbows? The enemy will always just charge after the initial wave. If it's a large battle then don't forget to group your men up before meeting the next wave. Having high tier units will always help and commanding them properly will help to save their lives. If you don't have either of those terrain types then get to the edge of the map and get your men packed as tightly together as you can. If you're facing cavalry, try and fight them on a slope or in water. In terms of tactics - play to the strengths of your units and to the weaknesses of the enemy.Ĭavalry is awesome in the open field but not so good on hills or in water.
You need to inflict a fair amount of casualties for this to occur though. There is a morale system in battle - thats why you see units running away sometimes. Put infantry on front, put archers behind infantry or on a hill or something, put cav to the far side, when enemy charges at you ur crossbows and archers deal damage from a distance while ur infantry distracts them and then make ur cav charge the flank and prefferably kils all their archers Surely there are more to it than this? The only reason that worked so well in total war is because of the morale system which I dint believe warband has.
